1.What is mineral processing?

Mineral processing, also known as ore dressing, is the process of separating commercially valuable minerals from their ores. Common mineral processing methods include gravity separation, flotation, magnetic separation, electrical separation, chemical mineral processing and microbial mineral processing.

3.Experiment process

After we got the representative samples we needed, the lab will analyze the material components (ore structure, mineral and types of ore) and chemical properties (elements, the particle size screening, density, ore relative grind-ability) of raw ore, and get the required data for the subsequent experiment.

After chemical analysis, the lab will take the mineral processing experiment in order to get the optimum conditions of mineral processing. Technicians will take the exploratory experiment at first relying on their rich experience and ore properties, and then the detailed experiments will be carried out including grinding fineness, reagent dosage, open and closed circuit experiment, etc. After obtaining the final products,technicians will analyze the recovery rate, and then take sedimentation experiment of concentrate and tailing as references for equipment selection.

After finishing all the experiment, the lab will submit a detailed ‘Mineral Processing Experiment Report’ by summarizing all the experiment processes. In the last part of report, the optimum technological process and technological parameters will also be presented.

4. What types of experiments can HOT provide?

4.1 Beneficiability Experiment

The beneficiability experiment is carried out on a laboratory device or a small experiment equipment, and is generally used only for evaluation of ore deposits.

4.2 Small Scale Mineral Processing Experiment

For most projects, it can meet the requirements of preliminary design of process and product plan, selection of main process equipment and comparison of design alternatives.

4.3 Scale-up Continuous Experiment

It can be more reliable to provide reference and guidance for process design, equipment selection. It is suitable for large and medium-sized projects and refractory projects.

4.4 Semi Commercial Experiment

The purpose of the experiment is to verify the process plan of the laboratory experiment, and to obtain the technical and economic indicators similar to the practical production.

4.5 Commercial Experiment

The commercial experiment is carried out in a series of local commercial plant established by production or concentrator plant or even the whole process of the experiment, because of its equipment, process, technology and production conditions or the future design is basically the same, so the technical and economic indicators and technical parameters are more reliable than semi commercial experiment.

4.6 Single technical Experiment

For existing mineral processing plants, when equipment / process / agent / material needs to be replaced / upgraded / modified, a single  technical experiment is needed to get technical support.
